Last Saturday night Pelucho Promotions returned to the high ceiling confines of El Foro Theatre in the heart of Tijuana, MX.  In front of a enthusiastic crowd of over five hundred boxing fans, Diego "Pelucho" Morales, former WBO super flyweight champion and younger brother of three time world champion Erik "Terrible" Morales, presented a night of raucous fighting with eight fight scheduled for the night.  In the main event Enrique Colin (24-4-3, 20KO) of Guasave, MX stopped Tijuana's Sergio "Americano" Soto (14-13-1, 10KO) in the sixth round of a scheduled ten in what could only be described as a bloodbath.

In the first exchange of the bout an accidental head butt caused a cut over the eye Colin.  Colin, who is coming off a loss to Demetrius Hopkins last November, did not let the cut deter him as he went after his opponent with a hurried sense of urgency punctuated with a right hook to the head that stunned Soto near the end of the round.  In the second, Colin went after Soto and dropped him with another thundering right hook.  Soto was able to beat the count and began to get in the inside of his opponent landing hard hooks to the body.  At the ten second mark to end the round, Colin trapped Soto against the ropes and attacked with fervor landing a hard right hook that almost dropped Soto again if it wasn't for the bell to end the round.

With a bloodied nose Soto battled Colin in the third trying to make for lost ground in the third round.  A heated exchange ensued through out the round as Colin began to use movement to keep the continuously more aggressive Soto at bay.  The slightly quicker and more technical Colin was able to pick his shots and land hard hooks from either fist opening a cut over Soto's left eye.  The action continued through out the fourth and fifth round with a pattern developing as Soto used relentless pressure to try to corner Colin against the ropes and attack the body while Colin was able to step aside and counter with two and three punch combinations to the head and body.

By the sixth round with Colin bleeding from a cut above the left eye and Soto doing the same plus a bloodied and broken nose the end seemed near as Soto seemed worse for wear.  With every punch landed by either fighter a blood sprayed over the ring and its near vicinity with Colin getting the better of the exchanges.  As Soto was beginning to close up the gap between himself and a mobile Colin, the referee had Soto's cuts checked by the attending ringside doctor who deemed that the local fighter's face was unfit to continue.

Official time was 2:17 of the sixth round.

In the semi main event, Wilmington, CA's David "La Flecha" Gaspar stepped up to six rounds in his early career to face Ernesto Armenta of Tijuana, MX.  In the first round Gaspar looked strong as he counterpunched Armenta's job with an overhand right that found its mark effectively.  Midway thru the round, Gaspar feeling confident began to double his counter right hand with hard left hooks to the body that seemed to bother the slightly more experienced Tijuana fighter.  As Armenta slowly closed the gap in the second on his taller opponent, Gaspar's body attack paid off as he dropped his opponent with a crushing left hook to the body.  Armenta was able to beat the count but not without showing Gaspar the key to victory.

In the third round, Armenta stepped up his attack to the body in hopes of slowing down his opponent but to no avail as Gaspar continued to attack with combination punches which were always punctuated with a heavy left hook to the liver.  By this point, Armenta began to slow down as he was forced to bleed from his mouth since his nose was bleeding profusely more than likely from the numerous over hand right hands that "La Flecha" would land over his jab.

Gaspar seemed to faintly tire as his punch outpoint diminished in the fourth and fifth rounds.  Although Gaspar was putting together fewer combinations, the combinations that he was putting together were effective in slowing Armenta even more than himself.  In the sixth and last round, Gaspar wanted to finish strong and came out with a second wind stringing punches together which led for Gaspar to trap his opponent against the ropes and land a barrage of punches that prompted the referee to stop the bout at the 2:10 of the sixth round.

With the TKO win Gaspar sees his perfect record go to 4-0-1, 4KO while Armenta drops to 0-7.

In a spirited bantamweight bout of first timers, southpaw Victor Capaceta (1-0) of Tijuana dropped Marco Hernandez (0-1) also of Tijuana twice with straight left hands, once in the first and again in the fourth when he opted not to continue with the bout.  Official time was 2:51.

Tijuana's Javier "Pelon" Gomez (3-1, 2KO) landed a left upper cut to the body of Rosarito's Edgar Zavala (0-2) that sent him writhing in pain to the canvas.  Referee Juan Morales Lee waives off the light welterweight bout at the 2:04 mark of the second round.

After dropping bantamweight Luis Vargas (0-2) with a spectacular right hand upper cut near the end of the first round, Adan Osuna (3-2) was a awarded a unanimous decision with scores of 40-36 and 4-35 twice in their rematch.

Bantamweight Sergio Najera (3-1) of Tijuana, MX was awarded a majority decision with scores of 38-38 and 39-37 twice over Francisco Navarro (0-1-1) also of Tijuana, in a scheduled four round fight.

After dropping Ensenada's Manuel Armendariz (0-6) with a left hook to the body in the first in a super flyweight four rounder, Tijuana's Felipe Salguero (1-2) earned a unanimous decision with scores of 39-36 and 40-35 twice.

A right hook to the ear and a follow up straight right from super welterweight Jose Cardenas (1-1) of Santa Ana, CA finishes off Tijuana's Alex Alonso (0-5) at the 1:51 mark of the first round of a scheduled four.
