Last Saturday night, boxing fans witnessed another divisive finish of a Chavez fight with once again the ring being bathed in beer and ice by disgruntled Mexican fans.  Just like the night of June 20th in Tijuana, MX, when the younger fighting son of the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Omar Chavez, was awarded a controversial four round draw in a bout versus Miguel Hernandez where Chavez seemed to fatigue as early as the middle of the first round, this past weekend in Hermosillo, MX, in the latest installment of Top Rank’s “Latin Fury” traveling fight cards, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. showed signs of fatigue as early as the fifth round of a scheduled ten round junior middleweight fight against Minnesota’s Matt Vanda.

June 30th ::Antonio Margarito is Ready for Cotto!::

Last week SDFights.com sat down with two time welterweight champion and SDFights.com ranked #1 Antonio Margarito as he took a short weekend break from his Los Angeles based camp in preparation for his much awaited July 26th challenge of undefeated Miguel Cotto for the WBA 147 lbs title billed as "La Batalla/The Battle" promoted by Top Rank and being held at the MGM in Las Vegas, NV.  Margarito was in his hometown of Tijuana, MX, enjoying the fight card that was held last Saturday night in the city's Municipal Auditorium.  Surrounded by his wife Michelle and an assortment of friends and family, Margarito looked happy and in shape as a multitude of well wishers paraded in front of him in hopes of getting a photo or an autograph with the always amiable Margarito.  "I am very happy.  I don't want to disappoint my people and I am bringing the title back to Tijuana and I am proud to have all these people show their support." .....<details>

Monique Rendon is a rare sight.  Sitting on a high stool near a boxing ring, there is no other place for the only female judge sanctioned by the World Boxing Council would rather watch a boxing match "once you have experienced a fight from the a judge's stool, you can't enjoy it from any other place.  That is one of the main reason I like to judge.  From that view, you see things and hear things that you would never be able to do from home or from any other seat in the house," Rendon states about the hobby that she has enjoyed since she was eighteen years old and carries out in the border town of Tijuana, MX., and occasionally in the US "I worked on a Timothy Bradley Youth title fight in Ontario not too long ago and it was a great experience.".....<details>

June 21st ::Tijuana Fight Night 06.21.08!::

On Saturday night, all eyes of the Mexican boxing scene were focused on Tijuana, MX's Municipal Auditorium "Fausto Gutierrez Moreno" as Mexican TV channel Canal Azteca set up shop within the hollowed confines of the building. As 2000+ enthusiastic fans took their seat to enjoy a long night of boxing with a Don King like output of thirteen bouts scheduled presented by Zanfer Promotions.  A night of fisticuffs, upsets and a near riot ensued.  In the main event, Navajoa, MX's tough guy Luis Ramon "Yory Boy" Campas came into enemy territory and completely annihilated Tijuana's former WBA super welterweight champion Alejandro "Terra" Garcia in just 1:48 of the first round of a scheduled ten round middleweight bout.....<details>
