“Huevo” Bojorquez Defeats Sarnoi in a Close One!

“Huevo” Bojorquez Attacking Pablo Cupul Earlier this Year

Last August 3rd, super bantamweight Christian “Huevo” Bojorquez (8-0, 1KO) of Tijuana remained undefeated as he got past his biggest foe, Walter Sarnoi (10-4, 5KOs) of Monterey Park, CA, in a six round bout at the Pechanga Casino in Temecula, CA.

Those in attendance were treated to a brawl since both fighters went down twice during the free swinging slug fest. The deciding factor was a low blow that Sarnoi was penalized for by referee Jose Cobian. The split decision went down to a one point difference, 55-54 twice for Bojorquez while judge Eddie Hernandez saw it 55-54 for Sarnoi.

  1. I wasn’t at this fight but I did watch it on television. It was a good fight, but Sarnoi clearly scored the better punches. One of his “knockdowns” wasn’t a knockdown at all. Bojorquez really needs to develop a punch as the better competition will see that he lacks power. When one lacks power, the brawlers will eventually have their day. This would be a good one to see again on neutral territory.
