Four time world champion in as many divisions and current WBC light welterweight champion Erik “Terrible” Morales arrived in Houston, Texas, on Sunday evening for his next assignment and first defense of his title on Saturday, March 24th. Morales landed with his team comprised of his trainer and father Jose “Olivaritos” Morales, chief second Fernando Fernandez as well as assistants Armando Cardona and Jorge “Choko” Murillo. Morales (52-7, 36KOs) of the Zona Norte of Tijuana, Mexico, will be facing undefeated young lion Danny “Swift” Garcia (22-0, 14KOs) of Philadelphia in a twelve round bout. The contest will be televised live by HBO’s “World Championship Boxing” from the Reliant Arena and presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Box Latino and sponsored by Corona, DeWalt Tools and AT&T.
