Rojas-Azuaga Ready For Saturday!

Motivated to return to the ring, confident in a great training camp, thankful with his promoter Zanfer for believing in him and happy to be fighting in Tijuana, Tomas” Gusano” Rojas promised to give a great fight this Saturday, November 5th, at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium in the main event of “Gala Boxistica” presented by Zanfer Promotions and broadcast live in Mexico by TV Azteca.

Rojas (36-13-1, 24KOs) will face at the ultra-experienced Feliciano Dario Azuaga (82-21-2, 67KOs) of Paraguay in a ten round bantamweight bout. The bout will mark Rojas’ return to the ring after losing the WBC super-flyweight title last August in Thailand versus Suriyan Sor Rungvisai.

“I want to be a world champion again but for that I have to first beat Azuaga,” Rojas said at the final press conference held at Pockets Billiards in Tijuana, Mexico. “I want to thank Zanfer for the trust they have given me and there is plans for next year to challenge for a world title whether in bantamweight or super flyweight. I am convinced that I can achieve it but first I have to do what I came to this great city of Tijuana to do.”

When his turn came to speak, Azuaga mentioned that he was ready to go after what would be the biggest win of his career, one of more than 105 professional fights, “I have boxing in my veins and I don’t know when I am going to retire. I am thirty-seven years old and more than hundred pro fights but I still feel good and I still have goals. I came to Mexico to face a great fighter and I know a win over ‘Gusano” will open a lot of doors.”
