Securely postioned in the second spot of the WBC featherweight rankings, the unbeaten Juan Carlos Burgos (25-0, 18KOs) of Tijuana, MX, will take part of the mega fight card headlined by the super star Erik “Terrible” Morales on September 11th. “MiniBurgos” will face Filipino Joan De Guai (10-11-4, 2KOs).

“My promoter won the bid for the title fight,” the 22-year-old Burgos stated recently. “We are just waiting to see if the WBC is going to name Jhonny Gonzalez as the other challenger since he is fighting for another title.”
Gonzalez, who is ranked #1 by the WBC, is slated to fight on September 15th for the IBO featherweight title in Las Vegas, NV.
“Once we win on the 11th of September, we need to just wait for Gonzalez or another opponent,” Burgos said. “My promoter have stated that they want to have the right in Texas.”
Burgos has held the IBA and the WBC Continental Americas featherweight titles.
