Tijuana jr. flyweight Julio Cesar “Gatito” Felix (13-3, 5KOs) has returned to his boxing career with a clear set mind to challenge for a world title. After losing his challenge of a youth world title against Jesus Silvestre in 2008 and getting knocked out in one round by Manuel Jimenez en 2009, Felix decided to step away from the squared circle for some time.
After some healing of injuries and finishing up his degree in business administration, Felix has returned refreshed and motivated and ready to make up for lost time.
Since his return, he has reaped two wins and now is ready to face Ricardo “Rocky’ Armenta (10-7-1, 4KOs) of Agua Prieta, MX, as part of the “KO Against Child Cancer” fight card being held on Saturday, August 28th, at the Tijuana Municipal Auditorium.
Armenta will be a tough opponent for Felix since Armenta has faced world class opposition in Manual “Chango” Vargas and a slew of ranked fighters like Hernan “Tyson” Marquez, Luis “Gallito” Ceja, Javier “Cobrita” Mendoza, Victor Zaleta and Armando “Chiquita” Vazquez.
The Felix-Armenta sure to be war is scheduled for six rounds.
