Baja Boxing Returns to Tijuana!

With a fight card shock full of hometown up and coming prospects, Baja Boxing returns this Saturday night to Tijuana, MX’s Municipal Auditorium.  The multi-fight card is billed as “KO Against Child Cancer” and proceeds go towards the Castro Limon Foundation which helps fight the deadly disease and give a better life for those children suffering from cancer in Tijuana.

Juan Pablo "CheChe" Lopez

In the main event, local undefeated light welterweight Juan Pablo “CheChe” Lopez (17-0, 16KOs) will headline his first night when he faces the tough Luis Rey Compoa (8-5-1, 5KOs) of San Luis Rio Colorado, MX, for a scheduled ten rounds.  Lopez fights out of the CREA Gym run by Don Romulo Quirarte is coming off a devastating knock out of Carlos Luzania last month while Campoa, who participated in the local “Guante Azteca (Aztec Glove)” tournament is coming off a disappointing loss to Misael Castillo.

On the undercard, Tijuana super flyweight Arturo “Fuerte” Badillo (17-1, 15KOs) makes his  return to the ring after suffering his first professional loss when he takes on Ernesto “Chatito” Rivera (22-26-1, 8KOs) Ciudad Juarez, MX, for eight rounds while jr. flyweight Julio Cesar “Gatito” Felix (15-3-1, 6KOs), also of Tijuana, takes on Agua Prieta, MX’s Ricardo “Rocky” Armenta (10-7-1, 4KOs) for six rounds.

Also making an appearance in the charity fight card,the popular Tijuana super welterweight Jovan “Vaquero” Muñoz (10-1, 4KOs) will take on for six rounds the experienced Christian “Yaqui Chavez (20-15, 10KOs) of Agua Prieta, MX.  Rounding out the card, the two-time gold medalist in the Mexican National Olympiad, Jorge De Alba (4-0, 4KOs) of Tijuana will try to keep his perfect record intact when he faces Jorge Luis Babuca (1-3-2) of Nacozari, MX, over a bantamweight four rounder.
