De La Mora Ready to Defend!

One of the more popular and charismatic fighters in Tijuana, David “Morita” De La Mora, is in full swing preparing for the first defense of his newly acquired WBC FECARBOX bantamweight title last April. De La Mora will be defending his title against Colombia’s Elvis Garcia (9-6-3, 5KOs) on Saturday, July 24th, at El Foro Threatre in Tijuana, MX. The semi-main event twelve round championship bout presented by Baja Boxing as part of their “Full Impact” fight card will be televised nationally in Mexico by Televisa.

The undefeated “Morita” (20-0, 14KOs) trains under the watchful eye of Romulo Quirarte in the newly re-designed CREA gym. In his last bout, De La Mora stopped Jovanny Soto to earn the coveted FECARBOX title in front of his hometown crowd of Tijuana, MX, in the inaguaral fight card for Baja Boxing.

The Colombian Garcia is considered much tougher than his record indicates as he has fought in such away places of Venezuela, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina as well as his native Colombia. He has faced much stiffer than De La Mora in the likes of Noel Arambulet, Ricardo Nuñez, Freddy Beleño Roberto Domingo Sosa and the Mexican Everardo “Zihua” Morales.

In the main event of “Full Impact”, Antonio “Cañitas” Lozada Jr. will defend his version of the FECARBOX title in the super lightweight division against Tijuana’s Rodrigo Juarez while Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero goes after the vacant version in the super featherweight division against Orlen Padilla and Alain “Konan” Hernandez gets a chance for the lightweight FECARBOX strap against Antonio “Bazooka” Cervantes of Ensenada.
