Omar Estrella (11-2-2, 7KO) of Tijuana, MX, will take a step towards a national title when he trades leather against Carlos “Bolillito” Gonzalez next Saturday night in Mexico City. The ten round bout will be the semi main event of Mariana “Barbie” Juarez’s defense of the WBC interim female flyweight title.
Super Featherweight Omar "Dinamita" Estrella
The Estrella-Gonzalez fought will be disputed in the super featherweight division where 130 lbs. marks the limit.
“I know that he is an experienced fighter but I have had some tough sparring with Gerardo ‘Torito’ Zayas, Felix Castro and Luis ‘Vampiro’ Arceo,” “Dinamita” Estrella, who trains out of the Mojac gym, stated. “This is a great opportunity for me since my promoter Erik Morales told me that if I win I would challenge Marvin Rodriguez for the super featherweight national title.”
In his last outing, Estrella took care of Manuel Arellano in two rounds earlier this year and own wins over Alejandro “Suavecito” Ramirez and Emilio “Yory Boy” Bojorquez.
