“Since the fight against Ana Maria Torres was canceled, I have been training in Toluca,” Juarez who resides in Tijuana, stated. “I have been feeling great in training.”

She also said that she will be in excellent conditioning and would go after a knockout to end the bout in specatacular fashion.

“On the same fight card, Felipe Salguero (interim WBC jr. flyweight youth champion) will also be appearing,” she added. “I have sparred with him obsessively and we are in great shape so by fight time, I will be ready.”

As far as her opponent, Juarez is expecting a tough fight.

“I know that she is a fighter that is undefeated and she is the national champion at flyweight,” Juarez stated. “The fight was made by her promoter, El Jefe de Monterrey, he asked for the opportunity and we obliged.”

She also shared her thoughts in being named the “Female Fighter of the Year” for the second year in a row by the Mexico City Boxing Comission.

“I think I won the award because of the effort I have made inside the ring,” she said happily. “In the last year I faced a good group of opponents and I was very active. I would like to thank the Mexico City Boxing Commission for the distinction.”
