“Terriblito” Morales Following his Brother’s Footsteps!

Jose Ivan "Terriblito" Morales

Jose Ivan “Terriblito” Morales, brother of the three time world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales, like many other fighters, dream of being a world champion.

Morales comes from a dedicated boxing family headed by the former fighter and now trainer/manager Jose “Olivaritos” Morales and with the afore mentioned “Terrible” and former WBO super flyweight champion Diego “Pelucho” Morales as his siblings, the younger Morales knows the pressure to call himself a champion is strong.

With only five wins, three of them by knock out and only eighteen years of age, Morales knows the road is just beginning.

“I wanted to fight because of my family, I saw everything that my brothers did and I liked it,” Morales said. “I really liked the style of ‘Pelucho’, he was more aggressive. I am dedicated to boxing at 100%. My father has told me that I have a great opportunity, for me to train hard and with focus since each one must win what it is theirs.”

Morales of Tijuana, MX, had a longer amateur careers than most in Mexico with thirty wins against only three losses.

His debut was in December of last year in nearby Rosarito.

“It was against Cristian Zavala. I made my debut in super bantamweight and I won by 2nd round KO,” Morales shared. “I have fought in flyweight and super flyweight. Last month I had the honor to share a fight card with my brother Erik ‘Terrible’ Morales at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, MX. I was very excited, it was my first big fight card. I am happy to have been a part of it. I am also happy for Erik’s win and of our family. I also won.”

Erik Morales defeated the former lightweight champion Jose Alfaro of Nicaragua via unanimous decision in his much anticipated comeback after a two and a half year hiatus.

“My father is a great trainer and my brothers always give me advice,” Morales said regarding the involvement of his family in his career. “They are big names in this sport and it is great for them to give me advice.”

One of his goals is to be the first set of three brothers to win a world title.
