The three time world champion Erik “Terrible” Morales, CEO of Box Latino, stated before his departure to Cardiff, England, that the fourth fight between Mariana Juarez and Ana Maria Torres has been postponed until further notice.
Morales travels to the United Kingdom to film his scenes in an upcoming british movie in which he will play the part of Vicente Saldivar.
The three time world champion gave no reason why the championship fight between Juarez and Torres, which was going to take place on April 17th and would have been for the WBC female super flyweight title, was postponed and gave no new date.
“I have been training for five weeks, two weeks in Tijuana and three in Toluca,” “Barbie” Juarez stated. “I am working hard and I am working on my quickness. On Satuday I will go for ten rounds in sparring. I will continue to get ready for the fight.”
“Miguel Rodriguez is training me in the gym with a program that ‘Pelucho’ Morales gave him,” Juarez continued. “Pedro Mora is helping me with my mitt work and I am sparring with Felipe Salguero. Ibeth Zamora, who is the interim WBA jr. flyweight champion, will also join the team.”
Juarez also mentioned that Torres at first did not want to put her title up.
“Ana Maria’s promoters did not want to, they wanted the fight to be for ten rounds,” Juarez stated. “I am going up a division, to the super flyweight class, so we want it to be worth it so we demanded that the title be up for grabs.”
She assured that this bout will be different to the other three which she has lost two and tied in one against Ana Maria Torres.
“My preparation has been excellent. You are going to see a stronger Juarez, who will not get tired in the fight,” “Barbie” Juarez said confidently. “I have learned from my losses and I will get what is mine back. Now I have better technique, more intelligence and I am going to win. I don’t see how she can beat me, I have everything to beat her.”
