“Terrible” Morales Arrives in Monterrey!

Erik "Terrible" Morales

Three time divisional champion Erik “Terrible” Morales arrived to Monterrey, MX, over the weekend for his bout this upcoming Saturday night against former lightweight champion Jose Alfaro of Nicaragua in what would mark the first bout for Morales in two and a half years.

The bout will be held at the ultra modern Arena Monterrey and will be disputed in the welterweight division for the WBC international title.

“I arrive with great preparation.  It was three months of hard work in the Otomi Mountains,” Morales stated to the assembled press at the airport.  “I am here to win.  I know that the fight will be difficult but I know that I can win.  I promise to the people of Monterrey that they will see a real fight.”

Morales stated that the boxing world will see a stronger, faster and more precise Erik Morales.  He also shared that he has not had any issues with weight and feels comfortable as a welterweight.

“We are going to win.  Erik has prepared himself very well, he is in great condition,” Jose Morales, Erik’s father and trainer, stated.  “Alfaro is a tough fighter.  Like my son said, this will be a real fight.”
