After being originally slated to defend his title in Acapulco, MX, WBA jr.flyweight champion Giovanni “Guerrero Azteca” Segura will face Colombia’s Ronald Ramos in Ensenada, MX, this Saturday night.
The bout between Segura (23-1-1, 19KO) and Ramos (28-7-3, 14KO) will take place in the city’s Oscar “Tigre” Garcia Gymnasium and will be televised in Mexico by Azteca and Fox Sports Net in the United States. The fight card is promoted by Promociones Zanfer in association with Top Rank.
The 27 year old Segura is coming off a successful defense of his crown last February 20th in Acapulco versus the Panamanian Walter Tello. That marked the third defense of the title he captured against Cesar Canchila.
Ramos, 33, originally from San Onofre, Colombia, is a twelve year veteran who made his professonal debut in 1997 and defeated Robinson Carrera via TKO in Cartegena, Colombia.
In his last bout, he knocked out Jose Humberto Caballero in the fifth round on February 27th in native country.
