With twelve years of professional experience under his belt, former IBF jr. flyweight champion Roberto “Mako” Leyva is a tough challenge for anybody.The 30-year-old Leyva of Ensenada, MX, by way of Puerto Peñasco is ready to show what his experience can do when he faces Juan Jose “Goofy” Montes on Saturday, April 3rd at the Olympic Coliseum in the University of Guadalajara, MX.
“I accepted the fight to take advantage of the great conditioning I developed in Guadalaja,” Leyva stated.
“Mako” worked as the chief sparring partner for Ulises “Archie” Solis as he prepared for his latest bout this past Saturday night.
“He is a good fighter, young with a power,” Leyva said of Montes. “In the ring I will give my best, I want to beat Juan Jose Montes.”
The Leyva-Montes ten round bout will be the main event of HG Boxing’s “Pegada Xplosiva 3.”
Leyva, after finishing up his training in his adopted hometown of Ensenada, will arrive in Guadalajara with his manager, the legendary Conrado “Conejo” Guerrero, on Thursday, April 1st.
