Since the Italian Simona Galassi, who holds the full-fledged WBC female flyweight title, has not shown any interest in facing Mexican interim champion Mariana “Barbie” Juarez (23-5-3, 11KO), “Barbie” has stated that she is ready to move up to the super flyweight division.
Juarez of Tijuana by way of Mexico City, will defend her title for the fourth time against last sub Abigail Villa of Panama Saturday night in Rosarito, MX.
“We have been thinking about going up in weight because at flyweight there isn’t many opponents,” she explained. “The possible unification against Galassi because she makes it very difficult with her demands.”
She also stated that she was open to facing the current WBC super flyweight champion Ana Maria Torres who she has lot to twice and tied once.
“We are much stronger now than we were in those fights, we have gained experience and we would to face each other, I am sure I would defeat her,” she said confidently.
