Ricardo "Pelon" Dominguez
According to Dan Antuna of Tijuana newspaper Frontera, Zanfer Promotions will return to the city of its origin on Saturday March 6th. In the main event, the winner of Mexico’s version of The Contender, Campeon Azteca, lightweight Ricardo “Pelon” Dominguez (30-5-2, 18KO) of Culiacan, MX, will be featured. An opponent has not been named.
Dominguez knocked out Reyes Sanchez (17-3-1, 10KO) last December in Tijuana by KO to be crowned the series champion.
Andres “Chavy” Romero (14-2, *KO) of La Paz, MX, will face Ernesto Morales (18-4-1, 10KO) at featherweight, while Ensenada’s Misael Castillo (11-0, 10KO) and Tijuana’s Rafael Cobos (10-3-1, 3KO) will appear in separate bouts.
Guillermo Brito, Zanfer’s Director of Operations, stated that the fight card is slated for Tijuana’s Municipal Auditorium and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net.
