Last night in Acapulco, MX, Luis “Vampiro” Arceo (22-10-2, 15KO) of Tijuana, MX, was stopped by rebounding Urbano Antillon (27-1, 20KO) in the third round of a scheduled lightweight clash.
According to Rafael Soto Gil, Antillon dominated the action from the get go until the bout was stopped because of an ugly gash Arceo suffered near the end of the third round. The referee stated it was caused by a punch. Official time was 2:25.
In another bout, Omar Chavez, son of Julio Cesar Chavez, stays undefeated by stopping Rodrigo Juarez (15-11, 6KO), also of Tijuana, with a left hook to the body at the 1:44 mark of the first round. Chavez’s record goes to 20-0, 14KO.
In the main event, Giovanni Segura (23-1-1, 19KO) successfully defended his WBA jr. flyweight title with a 3rd round TKO over Walter Tello (14-4, 6KO) of Panama. Official time was 1:56.
