“Terrible” Morales: “My Comeback is Not a Sham!”

Three time divisional champion Erik “Terrible” Morales took the time to contact BoxNoticias.net and clarify reports that he had signed on with Nacho Huizar’s KO Entertainment as his promoter and other details of his proposed comeback to the ring later this year.

Morales stated that Huizar was hired for an assignment, more than likely to negotiate Morales’ return on television, despite the fact that Morales did not specify Huizar’ role.

“I don’t want to dupe the boxing fans like Marco Antonio Barrera, ‘Travieso’ Arce or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. do with easy opponents,” Morales declared. “Box Latino does not trick the fans, it does not disrespect the public and promotes real boxing, not shams.”

“Jose Alfaro is a tough opponent for my comeback but I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Morales continued. “The public is tired of mismatches, tricks and simulations. Everybody talks about that and I want to comeback the right way. For me to do what Barrera, Arce or what they do with Julio Cesar Jr., I’d rather stay home and not fight again.”

Morales is training in the Otomi Mountains in southern Mexico and states his return is slated for March 27th in Monterrey, MX and it will be at a catch weight between 142 lbs and 144 lbs.

“I will be in excellent physical condition and strong, not like in my last couple of fights,” Morales stated.

“I am training very hard for this fight and you will see that in the ring,” Morales said. “I am sure this will be a great fight since Alfaro is a hard hitter and I have my own talents. I think the fight will be very interesting since it is already generating interest.”
