To avoid distractions, super flyweight David “Flecha” Gaspar (12-1-1, 7KO) opted to land in Tijuana today, Friday, for his USNBC super flyweight defense against Juan Luis “Perla Negra” Hernandez (15-2-1, 9KO).
“He has been working very hard at improving his defense and his conditioning,”Raul Robles, Gaspar’s conditioning coach, stated to Daniel Antuna of Tijuana newspaper, Frontera.
“He will get here with great conditioning because he knows that he has to work hard for a fight of this type,” he added.
Robles also mentioned that Gaspar has been training in Long Beach with up adn coming prospect Chris Avalos along with Andres Chavez, Antonio Castro and Hanzel Martinez.
Gaspar holds the USNBC title and former WBA FEDECARIBE strap and as an amateur Gaspar fought at the U.S. Olympic Trials for the Beijing games.
