Baja Boxing, a new boxing entity led by Antonio “Cañas” Lozada, has announced their plans for the first quarter of 2010. On February 12th, it will feature its first fight card of the year when Luis “Gallito” Ceja (11-1-2, 9KO) faces Cesar Grajeda (7-1, 1KO) in a much anticipated rematch for the WBC FECARBOX straw weight title. Their first bout earned “Fight of the Year” honors from the Mexico City Boxing Comission at their yearly awards.
Baja Boxing also announced that two of their stable stars, super featherweight Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero (18-2, 14KO), who at the present time is the chief sparring partner for interim WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco, and jr. welterweight Juan Pablo “Che Che” Lopez (14-0, 13KO) will be featured on the February 6th fight card in Monterrey, MX, where DeMarco will challenge Edwin Valero for the absolute WBC title.
Quintero and Lopez will face Luis “Tribi” Gonzalez (14-1-1, 8KO) and Humberto Tapia (14-12-1, 7KO) respectively.
On March 20th in Tijuana, MX, lightweight KO artist Antonio “Cañitas” Lozada Jr. (21-0, 18KO) will fight for his first title when he faces Henry Aurrad (12-2-1, 9KO)) of Colombia. No title or venue was mentioned.
Undefeated bantamweight David De La Mora (19-0, 13KO) record as well as super flyweight Arturo “Fuerte” Badillo (17-0, 15KO), both of Tijuana, will also be featured on the fight card along with six more bouts.
De La Mora is fighting the always dangerous TBA while Badillo will be facing off against the world ranked Colombian Ronal Barrera.
