The two time world champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto will travel this upcoming Monday to Tijuana, MX, to start his preparation for his fourth title defense of his WBC super featherweight strap on December 5th.
Antonio “Cañas” Lozada, manager of Soto, stated that the opponent will be named shortly.
“Zorrita” Soto (49-7-2, 35KO) won his three bouts in 2009 by KO stopping Antonio Davis, Benoit Gaudet and Aristides Perez.
Soto and his manager stated that the only way they will travel north to the lightweight division is when the WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero is able to secure a visa for the United States and defend his title against Soto.
“We want to defeat the true lightweight champion who with out a doubt is Valero, so then we will wait,” Soto stated.
Soto will be trained in Tijuana, MX, by Bobby Quirarte, son of Romulo Quirarte, at the CREA Gym.
