Former world female champion Jackie “Aztec Princess” Nava (19-3-2, 10KO) promised to give a great fight on Saturday night at the final press conference for “HIts for Help” United Against Breast Cancer” scheduled for the El Foro Theatre in downtown Tijuana, MX.
Nava’s opponent will be Lina Ramirez ((8-12-1, 2KO) of Sinaloa who Nava of Tijuana has previously defeated two years ago.
“Lina is a warrior, she is a very resistant fighter, very strong and can box well from a distance. I am ready for the fight and the only thing I want to say to the fans is that they will see a Jackie Nava that is ready to fight for another world title,” Nava stated. Nava has the distinction of being the first female world champion crowned by the WBC.
Ramirez assured that she is willing and able to surprise the home crowd by defeating Nava knowing that a win against the former world champion would assure her bigger and more lucrative fights.
Another rematch that will be presented on the fight card will be between Joksan “Torito” Hernandez (16-1, 9KO) of Ensenada, MX, as he faces Jorge “Veneno” Cardenas (14-7-4, 9KO). Hernandez handed Cardenas his first professional defeat in 2006 but since then “Veneno” has drawn against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. and owns a win over Antonio “Barrio” Meza.
The Hernandez-Cardenas bout will be televised live by TV AZTECA in Mexico as well as the bout between Tijuana’s Alex Lopez (15-0, 4KO) and Genaro “Duro” Camargo (26-7, 19KO).
Tickets are priced at 100, 200 and 400 pesos ($7.30, $15.50 and $30.60 dlls) and can be bought at the Municipal Auditorium and El Foro Theatre box offices as well as GasMart gasoline stations.
The El Foro Theatre is located on Revolucion Avenue, about a five minute taxi cab ride away from the San Diego-Tijuana border.
