Edwin Valero is promoted as the most intimidating fighter in boxing today. With a perfect record of 25-0, 25KO and a Guiness world record of 19 straight knockouts in the first round, the Venezuelan has grown tired of stating that the best fighters in the world have ducked him.
But Antonio DeMarco (22-1-1, 16KO) of Los Mochis, MX, but residing in Tijuana would like to send him a message: He is not afraid of him.
Valero released to the press that he would be defending his WBC lightweight title against DeMarco on December 12th in Caracas, Venezuela, but it did not happen and not because DeMarco didn’t want it.
“It was something that we saw in the papers and on the internet,” DeMarco explained. “We never received the contract that he said he sent and we never received a formal offer.”
DeMarco is slated to face Jose “JawBreaker” Alfaro (23-4, 20KO) of Nicaragua this coming October 31st in Las Vegas, NV, for the Interim WBC lightweight title.
