According to Esto.com, Antonio “Cañitas” LOzada, manager of current WBC super featherweight champion Humberto “Zorrita” Soto, has just received an offer for his charge to face Miguel Acosta of Venezuela for the WBA lightweight title on November 14th on the Miguel Cotto-Manny Pacquiao under card in Las Vegas, NV.
Lozada also added that he will use this week to conduct talks over the proposed bout since there is still many details to hash out like the purse, options and other important points.
“Zorrita” Soto has mentioned numerous times that he is very interested in challenging for the lightweight title and this might just be his opportunity.
Acosta (26-3-2, 20kO) shocked the boxing world last July 25th in Nuevo Vallarta, MX, when he stopped Urbano Antillon to campture the WBA lightweight crown. he displayed above average boxing skills and a hard punch which he used to stop Antillon.
Soto (49-7-2, 32KO) is coming off an easy victory over the previously unbeaten Aristides Perez of Colombia who he knocked out a week ago in Cancun in what turned out to be the fourth defense of his WBC strap.
