Contract Sent to DeMarco; Soto Without Dance Partner!

demarco2According to a Venezuelan daily, Tijuana’s Antonio DeMarco will soon receive a contract to face the current WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero on December 12th in Caracas, Venezuela.  According to the report, the contract has been drawn up and signed by promoter Rufo John and sent by Valero’s manager Jose Castillo to Demarco, who is the #1 ranked WBC challanger, and his team.

“We are continuing the plans for that date since that is the one we have with HBO,” Valero stated as he prepared himself to begin his training camp.

Valero added that Miguel Acosta is also slated to take part on the December 12th fight card in Caracas.  It was rumoured that Acosta will be defending his interim title against Humberto “Zorrita” Soto on November 14th on the “Firepower” under card which is headlined by the Pacquiao-Cotto super fight but now, Acosta’s trainer/manager Orangel Ramos is saying different.

“We are working every day in the gym with Acosta.  We like the idea of fighting here in Caracas and as of yet, we have not received any offer to fight in Las Vegas,” the trainer stated.
