Light welterweight “Too Slick” Ernest Johnson (18-3-1, 7KO) of Chula Vista, CA, is scheduled to travel back to his native state of Ohio to battle out Marvin Cordoba Jr. (20-1-1, 11KO) of Las Vegas, NV, in an eight round bout on August 29th at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland.
The 29 year old Johnson has not stepped in a ring since his losing effort against former champion Zab Judah last November. Johnson has not fought in his hometown of San Diego since a 2004 2nd round TKO over Genaro Mellado at swiss Park in Chula Vista. Since then, Johnson has fought in Sacramento, Las Vegas, Carson City and New York City among other cities.
The current WBA NABA light welterweight champ Cordoba last faced Dennis Laurante in a losing effort in Las Vegas on May 1st.
Johnson and Cordoba will fight for a scheduled eight rounds in a multiple bout fight card that also includes Hector Camacho Jr.
