“I am in great physical shape and ready to return to my country with the WBC belt,” Carolina Alvarez of Venezuela stated. Alvarez assures that she doesn’t need more than two weeks in Tijuana to acclimate herself and prepare for her challenge of Mariana “Barbie” Juarez for the WBC flyweight title next Saturday.
One advanage that Alvarez possess is that fact that she is very familiar to fighting out of her home country since female boxing is not legal in Venezuela. Alvarez has traveled four times to Germany and has faced the Armenian champion Sussi Kentikian.
“I have a lot of confidence in my strengths so the champion must be ready for a great fight,” she said.
Despite the fact that four fights have been canceled, Alvarez has maintained herself in the gym.
Box Latino Promotions as well as the state government will present the first defense of Mariana “Barbie” Juarez in a ring that will be staged at the intersection of Coahuila and 5 de Mayo streets in the Zona Norte of Tijuana, MX.
The fight card will be broadcast live on Cadena Tres in Mexico.
