Cruz-Solis This Saturday for IBF Strap!

cristobalcruzphotobypetermarkheintzelmanSDFights.com ranked #3 and current IBF featherweight champion Cristobal “Lacandon” Cruz (38-11-1, 23KO), originally of Chiapas, MX, but residing in Tijuana will face off once beaten Jorge “Coloradito” Solis (37-1-2, 27KO) of Jalisco this Saturday night in his home state.

Cruz will be defending his title for the second time but this time in front of his home town fans and will be seeking revenge as Solis owns a win against “Lacandon” back in ’03.

Jorge, the brother of former IBF jr. flyweight champion Ulises “Archi” Solis, has only once loss on his ledger which came at the hands of current pound for pound king Manny Pacquaio in 2007 in San Antonio, TX.  Solis earned the right to challenge for the IBF strap by beating Monty Meza Clay in an eliminator.

Cruz captured the vacant title against Orlando Salido last year and defended it in France earlier this year defeating Cyril Thomas by unanimous decision.
