A good opportunity to classify themselves world wide awaits Gamaliel Diaz and the Venezuelan Alirio Rivero when they face off this Saturday June 13th at the Municipal Auditórium in Tijuana, MX, in another fight night promoted by Erik Morales’ Box Latino.
Diaz and Rivero will battle for the WBC Latino lightweight title in a bout that promises fireworks because of the distinct style of each fighter.
Diaz who wields more experience has held both the FECARBOX and the NABF featherweight titles as well as challenging for WBC strap twice with no luck.
With a record of 23-9-2, 10KO, Gamaliel “Platano” Diaz needs to win to get back in the “W” column since he has lost his last two fights to Humberto Soto and the South African Zolani Marali.
On the other hand, Alirio Rivero of Venezuela but who has resided in Tijuana for the last five years will try to earn his sixth win in his last 7 trips to the ring.
Rivero (21-6-1, 14KO) has challenged for the both the Mundo Hispano (featherweight) and FECARBOX (super featherweight) WBC titles in the past. “El Morocho” is coming off a tough earned draw against Juan Castañeda in which the WBC Fedelatin title was disputed.
