It has just been released that Tijuana’s Pavel Miranda will be facing undefeated Danny Garcia on June 12th in the semi main event of ESPN‘s Friday Night Fights.
Miranda (16-3, 8KO), who fights out of the Azteca Gym and is promoted by Thompson Boxing, is coming off his second loss in three fights when he was stopped in the eighth and final round by Mauricio Herrera in Ontario, CA, last November.
Miranda has not had good luck since joining Thompson Boxing and leaving the cradle of Tijuana, going 3-2, 1KO since begining to ply his trade north of the border. He has was stopped by Ty Barnett last June in the 4th round.
As far as Garcia (12-0, 7KO), he is being touted as the future of the junior welterweight by his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions.
The undefeated Garcia hails from Philadelphia, PA and has been featured in the undercard of a number of major fight cards accross the country such as Paul Williams-Winky Wright, Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz and De La Hoya-Pacquiao.
Miranda and Garcia will go at it over eight rounds.
In the main event, the two time featherweight champion Robert “Ghost” Guerrero (23-1-1, 16KO) returns to the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA, to face Johnnie Edwards (15-4-1, 8KO).
Also seeing action will be up and coming prospects Carlos Velasquez, Juan Velasquez and Ashanti Jordan.
