Regarding his recent loss by KO to Carlos Rueda, Tijuana’s by way of Santa Ana, CA David “Flecha” Gaspar chalked it up to an “excess of confidence. Now Gaspar states that he feels in good condition to take on former champion Isaac Bustos Saturday night at the Municipal Auditorium in Tijuana, MX.
The amateur stand out Gaspar and the ex former strawweight champion Bustos met for the first time Thursday in a press conference organized by the promoters of the night, Box Latino and Promociones PM.
The taller Gaspar (9-1-1, 6KO) stated that he feels some pressure in many seeing him as a future world champion.
“I am ready to return now that I have fixed some mistakes, one of them being keeping my hands up to protect my chin,” Gaspar stated.
Mexico city’s Bustos that he is ready to fight in Tijuana:
This is an important fight for me in Tijuana, a city in which I will be fighting in for the first time and I am happy because of that.”
Bustos (25-9-3, 13KO) revealed that for two months he has been training in the Otomi Mountains training center and that he is getting in the ring to win.
“I am ready to exchange punches for ten rounds,” the former champion stated. “the super flyweight division is not my ideal weight and I am planning to lose more weight because my goal to be a world champion once again.”
In the semi main event of the evening which also will be televised by Mexican cable channel Cadena Tres, the up and coming Rafael “Raffles” Gutierrez will be tested by the ex national champ Ramon leyte in a scheduled ten round bantamweight bout.
Also featured on the fight card will be Felipe Salguero, Jorge “Negro” Silva, Pedro Guevara, and Edgar “Roca” Bojorquez.
Tickets went on sale this past Thursday and will be available the night of the event. Tickets priced at 300 pesos ($23 dlls), 200 pesos ($15 dlls) and 100 pesos ($7.75 dlls).
