In the co-main event of Saturday night’s fight card at the Modelo Center in La Paz, MX, Enrique Colin of Tijuana, MX, by way of Guasave, MX, stopped Alejandro”Suavecito” Roman in the 8th round of a scheduled twelve.Ramirez (15-22-3, 11KO), also of Tijuana, is suspected of suffering a broken nose which impaired him from continuing the bout although Colin (29-4-3, 24KO) was well in control for the majority of the bout.
It is believed that an uppercut in the seventh round caused the broken nose. The bout was stopped by the officiating referree with no protest from the Ramirez corner.
In the main event, La Paz’s Ramon “Principe” Garcia (8-1-1, 6KO) earned the vacant WBC International jr flyweight title with a unanimous decision over Venezuela’s Jose Luis Varela (15-7, 7KO) with scores of 117-110, 117-111 and 119-109.
