It was revealed exclusively to SDFights.com that Tijuana’s Marvin “Cachorro” Quintero’s next opponent will be hard hitting southpaw Leonilo Miranda of Navojoa, MX.
Quintero, 22, is coming off his work-man like unanimous decision over Wes Ferguson earlier this month on ShoBox: The Next Generation on the Showtime network in a lightweight eight round fight.
The 26-year-old Miranda (30-1, 28KO) also has appeared on ShoBox but with much different results since he was KO’ed by Orlando Cruz in five rounds this past January.
Before his disappointing loss, Miranda’s biggest name on his ledger was former bantaweight champion Cruz Carbajal who he stopped in eight rounds last year.
The bout is scheduled for July 31st from the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynes, CA, also on the Showtime channel.
No weight class or amount of rounds was revealed but it is rumored that it might be in the super featherweight division.
Quintero, also a southpaw, owns a record of 16-1, 12KO.
