At a recent gathering organized by the WBC to honor Mexican multi millionaire
Carlos Slim as its “Man of the Year”, former two three time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito of Tijuana, MX, reiterated the fact that he will fight again in the summer despite his suspension by the California State Athletic Commission.
“Bob Arum will let us know where the fight will take place,” Margarito stated.
As far as is suspension due to illegal hand wraps in his loss to Shane Mosley last January, Margarito commented: “my lawyer is taking care of that.”
As for now, Margarito stated that he is not thinking of ther other welterweight champions.
“Miguel Cotto can say what he wants, I am not worried.”
Also in attendance at the luncheon which was held in Mexico City was Erik “Terrible” Morales confirming accounts that he will step in to the squared circle once again and that he would eventually want a rematch against the ex WBC lightweight champion David Diaz and that his first fight back will be in his hometown of Tijuana.
